Resumen (Presentación general del programa): UTT Outreach has designed and is implementing a complete eco-system to promote green citizenship through curricula integration into the national school system in Trinidad and Tobago. Through the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency our objectives in Master Teacher and National Teacher training were aligned to the Caribbean Examinations Council’s (CXC) curricula. UTT Outreach integrated renewable energy modules into the CXC curricula to cover content in Disaster Preparedness, Climate Change Impact and Mitigation, and Smart Grid Technology. The specific subject areas in the school curriculum included science, technology education, and natural disasters of climate change. An innovative aspect of this initiative was the development of student prototype kits with appropriate pedagogical instructions to guide the green agenda. Over 233 teachers were trained in this initiative. Nation-wide webinars in renewables and a school competition with 250 registrations were implemented.
